Hello dear lusts. Today I prepared a very interesting and tasty recipe, it is BREAD CAKE WITH PASTRAM, PEPPERS AND CHEESE. I would rather call it a bread cake with everything, because in it you can put any food you have left for the next day. You can also put meat, different types of vegetables, greens, etc. in it. Because we often run out of bread for the second or third day, and we just don't want to throw it away, I suggest a tasty way to use the food we have left in the fridge to prepare a mega-delicious cake and you know what? It is not difficult to prepare. I wish you more work and still have a tasty day and good appetite!

Ingredient:

  • 400 gr. - bread (1-2 days old)
  • 200 gr. - pork pastrami
  • 200 gr. - cheese
  • 250 ml. - milk
  • 5 - chicken eggs
  • 1 yellow pepper (about 200 gr.)
  • 1 red pepper (about 200 gr.)
  • A handful of parsley (finely chopped)
  • A knife tip - grated nutmeg
  • Olive or sunflower oil
  • Salt and black pepper

For decoration:

Cooking time: 30 minutes

Waiting time: 30 minutes

Total time: 70 minutes

Method of preparation:

  1. Cut the pastrami into cubes and brown them over medium heat for about 4-5 minutes, then take them out on a paper towel to drain the excess fat.
  2. Cut the peppers into cubes and cook for about 4-5 minutes on low heat, then take them out on a plate.
  3. Grate the cheese.
  4. Then cut the bread into cubes of about 2-3 cm.
  5. Break the eggs in a bowl, pour the milk over them, put the nutmeg and season thoroughly with salt, black pepper and mix well.
  6. Put in an airtight polyethylene bag that closes tightly: bread, 2/3 of the amount of pastrami, 2/3 of the amount of peppers, 2/3 of the amount of cheese, chopped parsley and egg mixture with milk. Close the bag and shake it for about a minute (during this time the ingredients will be able to mix. Then put the bag in the fridge for 30 minutes.
  7. Preheat oven to 170 degrees C.
  8. Grease a tray with a removable bottom measuring 21 cm with oil. and pour the ingredients from the package into it. Press well with a spatula.
  9. Sprinkle the pastrami, peppers and the remaining cheese on top.
  10. Put the tray in the oven for 25–30 minutes or until it browns nicely on top.
  11. Remove the tray from the oven, let the cake sit for about 10 minutes and then serve it hot. Good appetite!
